How To Get There and Where To Stay

The International Titisee Conferences take place in Treschers Schwarzwaldhotel in Titisee, a small village located at a picturesque lake of the same name in the scenic Black Forest of Germany. Participants are obliged to be present during the whole conference and a room reservation is made for all scientists for the entire time.

How to get there

By plane

We recommend that participants coming from abroad fly to Frankfurt (Main) Airport in Germany or to Basel Airport in Switzerland.

  • When flying to Frankfurt (Main) Airport, proceed by train to Titisee via Freiburg (Breisgau). The railway station is within the airport. Trains depart every hour and the journey takes approximately 3 hours, including a change to a local train in Freiburg (Breisgau) main station (see below "By train").
Please note that your return flight should not leave before 11 a.m. from Frankfurt (Main) to allow for sufficient time to travel to the airport and pass the extensive security checks, particularly when flying to the USA.
  • When flying to Basel Airport, take the shuttle bus from the airport to Freiburg (Breisgau) main station. Buses depart regularly and take about 50 min. In Freiburg, take the local train to Titisee (below By train).

By train

All major connections to Titisee run via Freiburg (Breisgau) main station. There you change to a local train that will bring you directly to Titisee (about 40 min). In Titisee, the railway station is within walking distance (5 min) of the hotel. If you wish to use the hotel shuttle service from the station, please let us know your time of arrival

By car

For driving directions please refer to one of the route planners, e.g. Viamichelin or Google maps
